MS accounting has die.

It is a very interesting incident in the history of software accounting for small business. In 2007, Microsoft enters the accounting software with a free express version, betting on people to upgrade to professional version. It is fighting intuit on Quickbooks.

In 2007, i abandon quickbooks because of the uncertainty of Microsoft arrival, and QS need to control the source code, making changes impossible when customers complain. He has lost the interest to make mobilepos in 2007 after 2 years of hard work.

Our dream has broken, mobilepos falls.

2007, 2008, 2009 I did not expect after 3 years, Microsoft is meeting her worse performance due to the rise of google. It is cutting anything that is not making money. No wonder small business can survive. It does not need much resource. Ebay is only 1 person company for the first year.

We have fallen after 3 years too, when QS controls the source code. I learn the person who control the source controls the company.

Intuit is also making less money due to the change in environment when many online invoicing websites have shoot up. 2009 is a downward trend on QB. It has also fighting MS with free version. Looking ahead, it has a billing manager to counter the new competitors.

The dilemma is making BillingManager strong would means killing off its cow ship. BillingManager is not making much money at all. It is depending on its credit card processing to make money.

They do not see that adsense is a better way to make money. Anyone can start a adsense kind of service. I can make my product aware to anyone using my competitor products. For example, if I rent scaffolding, I can advertise to anyone who is using my free accounting software and is a construction company. The link to my website or just my phone number is enough to bring business to me.

At the same time, i can know who are my potential customers based on my current customer list. There are so many gold in accounting software. I am making it online and free.

With QS, I am be able to get it sync to QB and go into US market.

competition: In 2009, the local accounting provider are not taking online accounting serious. UBS and MYOB are more on desktop installation.

enviornment: But the advance of mobile phone, iphone and mobile broadband, customer are more dependent on the web. It links up people, could be the boss and 1 worker. The growth and open of facebook make sign in easy, with promotion as pages to business.

Opportunity: I see that adsense suit suppler list very much. They are so much related to our business. And customer list bring more business to the owner when adsense new business.
